Miniaturas Desirée Lafuente

Desirée Lafuente was born in Logroño (La Rioja, Spain) where she studied Business Management and Management Computer Science. Although this was her career for some years, she always felt attracted to decorative arts, design and scenic art. This interest made her take up drawing and painting, fashion design and industrial pattern lessons. Also she practiced techniques for modelling, jewellery and artistic mosaic.
However, it wasn't until 1997 when she discovered the miniatures world and, afther two self-learning years, she started to make her first customized pieces.
This craftswoman's regular creations are upholstered furniture on 1:12 scale of diferents periods and styles. Each piece is made by hand, with noble wood, fabric and natural leather, and are characterized by their meticulous finished.
Her work has been featured in several specialized magazines: Dolls House and Miniature Scene, Miniaturas, Dollhouse Miniatures, Dolls House Nederlan, and her pieces are distributed between collectors worldwide.
